Underground Drain Line Replacement — Apartment Building Hallway

A Connecticut apartment building called us after water started surfacing through the hallway floor. The underground cast iron drain line had suffered trench rot — the bottom of the pipe eroded completely through, leaking waste under the slab. We excavated through the concrete inside an occupied building, removed the failed line, and installed a new properly-sloped Schedule 40 PVC drain — start to finish, in-house.

The call: water surfacing through the hallway floor of a Connecticut apartment building — classic sign of a failed underground drain line.

The culprit: original cast iron drain pipe suffering from trench rot — the bottom of the pipe fully eroded away from decades of waste flow.

Sewer Camera Inspections, Root Removal & PipePatch Spot Repairs

Real footage from real Drain Wizard camera inspections across Connecticut. Every sewer and drain line we service can be video-inspected with our push cameras and self-leveling color monitors — so you see exactly what's happening inside your pipe. From root intrusions and grease buildup to cracked joints repaired with Source 1 PipePatch trenchless spot repairs, this is the proof behind the diagnosis.

BEFORE — 23 ft down the sewer lateral: massive root ball invading the pipe through a cracked joint, choking flow to a trickle. Camera doesn't lie.

Underground Sewer & Drain Line Replacement — Bedded in 3/4" Crushed Stone

Real Drain Wizard underground excavation work across Connecticut — commercial and residential. We replaced failed sewer and drain lines, installed new green PVC gravity sewer pipe, and bedded every run in a full envelope of 3/4" crushed stone. Proper bedding is what separates a repair that lasts 5 years from one that lasts 50 — it distributes load, prevents settling and bellies, and keeps the pipe at true grade for the life of the line.

Commercial sewer replacement in progress along a busy CT roadway — our tech dressing the trench beside the Drain Wizard bucket while a skid-steer stands by. Traffic cones out, safety first.

Water Damage Restoration & Structural Drying

When a Connecticut home or basement takes on water, fast extraction and professional drying are what prevent mold, rot, and costly rebuilds. This real Drain Wizard water damage restoration job shows our LGR dehumidifier and drying setup in place after a water loss — drywall flood-cut, containment established, and the structure being dried to verified standards.

Rob and James suited up in Tyvek and respirators before entering a contaminated water loss — proper PPE is standard on every Category 2 and Category 3 job.
